Women often take a back seat, but are always a quiet force – African Witnesses

Mar 2, 2023

At #synodaddisababa2023 Solange Clemence Bomesse Nee Yoyo, delegate of the Central Africa Republic Bishops’ Conference tells us about her experience of the synod path in the Central African Republic and the choice to put the family at the centre of the process.

Although women in CAR often take a back seat, they are always ‘a quiet force’ ready to defend family values and their children. The local synod process was also widely attended by believers from other Christian churches and other religions.

For Solange, the priests were also very involved in listening to their faithful, which allowed them to break down some preconceptions, bringing them closer to the faithful.
